About us 

Principles Surveyors is an independent business which has been established since 2010 and takes pride in upholding traditional values. 

The company is owned and run by Ian Prince who has over 25 years of experience within the property surveying profession. As well as being a member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), Ian is also a member of the  Society for The Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) for which he has an ongoing interest and is the elected Convener /  Chair and committee member of the Building Limes Forum  Educational Building Materials Charity and has lectured in academia up to post graduate levels.

As a strong advocate of traditional building materials and craftsmanship, Ian is particularly passionate about heritage buildings and has a high level of expertise in this area. Thoroughly understanding the pathology and structure plus constructional techniques is fundamental to making assessments for consultations.
